Business and Community Leader
A Business and Community Leader Who Encourages You to Create Positive Change
Leadership requires so much more than hitting financial goals—it is how you get there and who you empower and uplift along the way. I am currently completing a book based on my decades of experience as a business leader, and as a top consultant to many organizational leaders entitled “Motivate Through Service:13 Inspiring Ways to Build Enduring Relationships with People You Lead”. My book offers a way forward for people stuck in conventional leadership practices by fostering the emotional and spiritual leadership qualities of those in charge and nurturing their motivation to serve while building solid work relationships.
I recently sold a highly successful international behavioral health corporation I co-owned and operated, called the Sand Creek Group, to pursue my love of writing, painting, and serving my family and community. Over my long business career, I provided employee assistance counseling and wellness programs to a prestigious list of customers, including: Four Administrations of the Executive Office of the President of the United States and other departments of the federal government, Fortune 500 companies, professional sports organizations, healthcare organizations, and many cities, counties, school districts, and labor unions.
My efforts have been honored in many ways, for which I am grateful. Including:
- Business Woman of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce
- Woman of Achievement by the Business and Professional Women’s Organization
- The Moulton Award for Volunteer of the Year by the United Way
- Person of the Year by the Stillwater Evening Gazette.

I was deeply moved when the College of Human Ecology and Education at the University of Minnesota chose me for the award of Distinguished Alumni based on what they perceived as my significant contribution to behavioral health care delivery as well as my leadership through community service.
